If you're interested in understanding police encounters and scrutinising how these impact individuals and communities then sign up to join Newham Police's Police Encounters Panel (PEP).
Panels should be made up of members of the community and reflect the diversity we have in #Newham. So Newham African and Caribbean Network is urging young people, Black, Asian, LGBT and other minority and underrepresented groups to apply to join these local panels.
The impact a police stop and search and other encounter can have on an individual and community can be immense therefore being able to scrutinise and hold police to account on such encounters is an important role and we want as many people within our community to take part. Roles are voluntary but the benefit for you and the wider community can make a big difference.
